Clinical questions.
Research within reach.

PhyZio helps doctors and physiotherapists turn questions from everyday practice into research—especially where access to data, statistical support and research time is limited.

A collaboration in practice

From “I’ve noticed…”
to a research question.

A physiotherapist at a small hospital had an observation about early mobilisation, but no suitable local dataset or statistical support to test it.

We shaped the question together, found a relevant public cohort and analysed recovery after hip and knee replacement separately. Zizi led the methods and analysis and supported the manuscript through revision and resubmission.

A question we are exploring

Recovery should not
depend on the journey.

After joint replacement, how can someone living far from a rehabilitation service receive timely support at home?

This question is especially relevant to remote and pastoral communities, including those in Inner Mongolia and Mongolia. Repeated journeys to a city can make routine rehabilitation difficult to sustain.

We are exploring what public datasets and existing trials can tell us about home and digital rehabilitation: who needs contact, how recovery should be followed, and what work falls to patients and families.

Research with clinicians

Support that builds
research capability.

Consultation and tutoring connect a clinician’s question with study design, analysis, evidence synthesis and scientific interpretation. The aim is to help clinicians develop their studies and understand the decisions behind them.
